Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Ghost Town in 2016. The area of the beloved Orange County theme park was the first of six attraction areas added to the original berry farm to provide entertainment for those who arrived in droves to the Knott’s family chicken dinners.

In honor of the anniversary, Knott’s Berry Farm will celebrate all summer with Ghost Town Alive! Visitors will be able to peek into transformed authentic working establishments, where the ghost town comes alive and reverts back to a working town. New additions will include Calico Stage, themed after an abandoned mine, offering a new summer show in a new shady section of the park, Calico Park. The area will debut a refurbished saloon and western stunt show. Also receiving improvements is Knott’s classic wooden roller coaster, GhostRider. The coaster, which features a 4,533-foot wooden track and reaches speeds of up to 50 miles per hour, will remove its mid-course break for a longer, smoother ride in new passenger cars.

The celebrations will launch with Knott’s Berry Farm’s summer season, beginning May 27, 2016.
