Parents in love with the decor and styling of Restoration Hardware stores can rejoice: the upscale retail stores will become hotel offerings, beginning with a new property opening in New York City later this year.
While the boutique properties may not scream “let’s bring the kids!”, families with infants or teens may not mind booking a stay at the 14-room hotel opening in the meatpacking district’s 70,000-square-foot flagship property, just around the corner from the home furniture store’s Gansevoort Street flagship. The hotel will, of course, be decorated with restoration Hardware decor and furnishings. Details other than a ground-floor restaurant have yet to be revealed, but the parent West Elm company does plan to open similar properties in 2018, including Savannah, Georgia, Detroit and Indianapolis.
