Overview

The Oakhurst Lodge hits most of the right marks for families on a budget: it’s clean and comfortable, offers a daily free breakfast, is walking distance from a variety of area restaurants, and is equipped with free wifi in every room. The two downsides: no pool, and their largest room (with two queen beds) can only sleep four. Each room has a coffee maker and small refrigerator, and pet-friendly rooms are available if you’re traveling with a furry companion. One of the greatest draws is the location: Oakhurst is just 14 miles from Yosemite’s south entrance, so you’ll only have to drive about half an hour to reach it.

Nice people but the hotel needs a ton of work

by hood12

The staff here was super helpful and very nice to deal with. The property is much less than the website indicates and is in really tough shape. To the point of duct tape holding things together, expose plumbing and recessed ligthing with incandesant bulbs. The pool is closed and green. Just not worth the price at $150/night or even 1/2 of that. Serious maintenance needed and appears that owners either do not have the funds for rennovation or do not know how to improve the property. That being said their customer service is good and they are trying in the most important area at least.

A place to sleep.

This motel/hotel has seen better days but it also has seen worse. It is a property on the rebound and so it's a little rough around the edges IN SOME AREAS. However, if you're used to Hilton style accommodations you won't like it. On the other hand if you don't feel comfortable staying in a Sleazy-8 motel, you will find the Oakhurst Lodge an economical upgrade for families or groups of friends heading to Yosemite or Bass Lake.
