Room Just Doesn't Work

by rps1957

Here for a business conference. The room is just not setup for anything except maybe sleeping. Clean enough and recently remodeled, but not thought out as well as a basic Hampton Inn. Some examples: No desk at all, only one clumsy chair that will give a sore back, poor electrical outlet availability in general and especially at bed side, not well lit at all, no coffee/team maker in room (yes they will bring coffee once a day, but what a pain). They've gone with the European liquid soap things in the shower (cost saving move, I suppose some people like it). HVAC cycles on and off constantly, no setting for constant fan, so it's just on-off-on-off every 5-10 minutes. Place is okay, but it is not up to current standards and just doesn't work.

Historic Hotel in a good location

by Dorothy Louise S

We stayed here twice in two weeks. The first time for one night our room was large enough to have a sofa but was in the basement. When we arrived they asked if we wanted tear coffee delivered to our door in the morning. We said yes and it was really nice. When we stayed the second time we were there for two nights. We did not know we needed to order the tea and coffee again the second night so we were disappointed when it did not show up. There second time the room was smaller and was higher up. You can walk anywhere in the Old Port area. The bar in the hotel is a nice place to get a drink before going out for the evening. the staff was friendly and helpful.
