Overview

Surfers from around the world flock to the Raalhu Lodge, thanks to its prime location near the Jail Break, a famous surf spot. Families can watch the professionals surf massive waves, or try their hand at surfing on smaller breaks near the hotel. The snorkeling and diving in the area is also phenomenal, and the friendly staff can help arrange excursions. Deluxe Family Rooms are sound proof, air-conditioned, and accommodate three guests. All rooms feature a flat screen television, seating, and a private bathroom. A 24-hour restaurant offers a range of menu options, and there is a bar for parents to unwind at.

Passable!

by Mary L

The place is good for surfers and has only one beach. Good for walking for long distances into the shallow sea, but having another option would have been even better. Uninhabited islands with nice beaches(not good house reef) are a short speedboat transfer 20 USD for return. The guesthouse will send you a info to take the transfer from Male Jetty. Room are spaces but furniture needs upgrading and if there is a hot shower will be much better. The staff is friendly and helpful which makes the stay better and they will arrange any activities trip you wanna to do. Simple breakfast served in the morning. There is local eatery nearby for your lunch/dinner and mini-mart just a short walk.

Better than home stay cheaper than a hotel

After a bumpy yet speedy ride of 25 minutes, at around 11:30 pm, a beautiful island came to view. With sparsely lit street lights, the halogen glow seemed to have washed the entire landscape of this sandy paradise.
The lodge manager, Mohammad greeted us. The caretaker of the lodge, a very nice Bangaladeshi gentleman, Kouser, hauled our luggage on his strong shoulders and all of us walked to the lodge. As we went inside, it felt like home, quite literally. It was a quaint little property with wooden benches on the lawn, rattan chairs, and cosy lounge space, and a common dining room.
The air was cool and there was absolutely no sound in the vicinity. That night we slept like babies in our air-conditioned triple room.
