I booked this hotel 9 months in advance and did lots of research. Te Anau is a small town so finding information should not be difficult. However, the owners are local and they have local knowledge and advice that was vital to our stay in the area. Kerri patiently and promptly answered all my emails and when I finally arrived I felt like I was meeting an old friend. The room was very nice and the kitchenette was very handy. I was not planning on making breakfast since the Sandfly had such wonderful breakfasts but some mornings we departed before the Sandfly even opened so the kitchenette was a lifesaver. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Radfords is one of the most hospitable, clean, and outstanding hotels I've stayed in (and we've stayed in a lot of hotels!). Kerri, the manager, was super helpful and friendly by e-mail prior to check in, but upon arrival she greeted us warmly, provided helpful information, and showed us to our lovely rooms. Throughout our stay she was cheerful and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed.
The rooms are well appointed and meticulously clean, but the best feature is that they all have amazing windows and sliding glass doors that face the lake. The location is excellent - it's a 5-10 minute walk to town.
If you are planning a trip that includes Te Anau, I highly recommend staying at Radford's On the Lake. You will be very happy you did!
