As per what other people have said the hotel is in a fantastic location but the rooms let it down. We thought the location was perfect for us as it was on the same road as the train station and easy to get to the main attractions. The view of the castle from the hotel dining room was lovely. Breakfast was good, we thought the food we had was nice and the choice what you would expect.
However, the room we had looked tired and old fashioned, there was wood chip on the walls and ceiling (of differing patterns) and the furniture was dated and worn. The bed was very hard and both mornings I woke up with back ache. Other people have mentioned the noise from outside but fortunately we were at the back of the hotel and we did not hear any noise. The noises that disturbed us were mainly from inside; the walls were very thin and we had the delight on our first night of hearing the couple next door arguing and then later that night making it up to each other!

Worst hotel staff ever... very rude and unhelpful the night staff. Think they need to have some customer service training for the night staff. To be laughed at by the two guys on tonight after what we have payed is a disgrace.
