Overview

Just 1 mile from the South Rim entrance of Grand Canyon National Park in the town of Tusayan, this family-owned, affordable lodge has been a fixture here for more than 50 years. It is a little more than 6 miles from Grand Canyon Village. There is free Wi-Fi. The rooms have flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms have mini-refrigerators. Some also have microwaves. There is a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, free coffee and tea in the lobby, onsite laundry facility and pet-friendly rooms. There is a complimentary shuttle to the park (available from mid-May to mid-September) and the activity desk can help you plan. A buffet breakfast is available and a casual onsite restaurant serves American and Mexican food for dinner.

There are actually two buildings: a motel and a hotel. The two-story motel has outdoor entrances to each room, which will accommodate a maximum of four people. The hotel has larger rooms that can accommodate five. You can book discounted room packages that include jeep tours and horseback riding, as well.

Reviews

Very handy for touring South rim

by bigsensible

Would have given this place a better rating but were put off by noise from people upstairs who packed and checked out early (5am!) noise through floor was awful, added to noise from local buses churning away in carpark made us checkout two days early. Front staff very understanding and applied reasonable discount for our discomfort. Cost of hotel is only because of proximity to park. Ask about quiet room when checking in!!

Affordable place minutes from south entrance to Grand Canyon

The main building was just totally remodeled this year. Family owned for 50 years. Nice to support family businesses rather than corporations. The lobby was inviting. Front desk staff was friendly. Our room seemed brand new. Comfortable king bed, sofa, refrigerator, coffee maker. Tub shower could use some grab bars for safety. Discount given for the restaurant next door. Looked like a nice fitness center. Had a pool with handicap lift but closed for the season in November. Great place to stay. Looks like they are remodeling the rest of the hotel. Great value for mid November. 112.00 per night. Not sure about high season.
