Reviews

Gets the right things right

by dgs5536

I love to write reviews for hotels that get the basics down and this one is one of them. Nothing fancy, not trying to be cool. Just a clean room, lots of lights and outlets, comfy bed, and no surprises. The only thing missing was a safe.

Friendly Staff and Good Location, but had a lot of problems

by sfofun202

The staff was friendly at check-in. My profile requests to be on a high floor and away from an elevator. They got me on an upper floor, but directly across from the elevator. I was tired from delayed flights, so I didn't feel like going back downstairs to change rooms. I just wanted to get something to eat and go to bed. The next morning I looked up and noticed there were dark spots near the vent, and it turned out to be black mold. I needed to get to a meeting and didn't have time to mess with it. I was getting out of the elevator and noticed a manager in the hall. I asked him to come into the room and look. He agreed it looked like mold. I asked him why his housekeeping staff wouldn't have reported that?? I also noticed the room hadn't been cleaned. He apologized and wanted to move me, but I didn't want to as I was heading to dinner. He said he would have the mold clean up and make sure the room will be cleaned. I also told him the room, especially the shower, wasn't that clean.

The next morning I was getting breakfast, and they didn't have any clean bowls, and they ran out of spoons. I had to eat my yogurt with a fork. The manager saw me and came up to me and said he spoke to his team to make sure everything will be fixed this AM. I told him there were no forks and out of bowls, he apologized again and said he would give me bonus points for all my inconveniences to cover a nights stay, he gave me some points nowhere near a free night. He said he would email me as a follow-up and never did.

When I was checking out the next morning at around 5 am, there was no one at the front desk. There were a couple of us standing there but weren't sure where the clerk was. I had a car waiting for me, so I had to leave my keys on the desk.

Overall, the stay was disappointing. This hotel is charging $200+ a night, and it's just not worth it. They have a lot of problems to work through before they can charge that. The only thing it has going for it right now is the staff are friendly and location.
