We reserved a suite with 2-beds and the room was spacious for a family of 3-adults.
The hotel appeared to be an older Marriott establishment, however our stay for 3-nights and with AAA membership booked a reasonable rate for our weekend visit to DC.
The staff were great starting with Michael who checked us in. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. I watched JERRY SYLVESTER in the breakfast area one morning training a new staff member. [update: Candace, La Tanya and Averi are all good staff; they should all smile just a little more] The attention to detail and efficiency was impressive. The breakfast itself was somewhat mediocre but decent enough to get fueled for the day. The already made mini cinnamon waffles were a treat. The wait team makes sure that nothing runs out or is found wanting! The room was fine except for a sewerish kind of a smell emanating from the bathroom upon entering. Other than that, the room was fine. The hotel location was fine. Restaurants nearby. We walked to the White House and the monuments of the mall. Overall, a very nice stay. Kudos to the excellent staff there. [update: Shamar at the front desk also wonderful - professional, courteous, friendly, thorough and diplomatic when needed! On this, my second visit, my appreciation of the hotel and its staff has deepened. ]
