Pancake Pantry is a famous Nashville eatery located near Vanderbilt and Belmont universities in a neighborhood known as Hillsboro Village. Opened since 1961, the restaurant offers 24 varieties of pancakes, including Swiss chocolate chip, pecan, buckwheat, cornmeal, potato, Georgia peach, blueberry, banana walnut, Caribbean, and sweet potato (with cinnamon cream syrup). For those who don’t fancy flapjacks, generous omelets and delectable French toast are also available — as are sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. But be warned, there’s a long line on weekends (and they don’t take reservations) — although the line does move quickly, and sometimes you get free coffee while you queue. Open for breakfast and lunch.
