The Ascend Properties describe their hotels as "upscale and boutique".
Our room was very clean and seemed to be recently painted. The furnishings were nice. Very nice lobby.
However, there were some aspects of the property that did not reflect what I would consider to be "upscale". There was NO ELEVATOR to our 3rd floor room. The bathroom was tiny and the sink, including counter space was approx. 25" by 21". There was no vent in the bathroom. There was no microwave. For the 5 nights we stayed, the door lock from our building to the parking lot was not functioning. Not safe considering that our entrance was at the back side of the hotel. There is an $11 per night amenities fee in addition to the nightly rate. I didn't have a problem with this fee until I experienced the issues listed above. Maybe it depends on your definition of upscale amenities.
Great hotel! Very family friendly with lots of things for kids to do while parents relax. The views are amazing. Hotel is clean, staff is very friendly. This is our first time here but we will be back for sure!!
