Nice Hotel, Unhelpful front dest

by LeroyB116

I stayed here Sept 26 2019. Upon check in they said I did not have a reservation. Lady at the front desk suggested I was at the wrong hotel. After going out to the car and returning with printed proof of prepayment, they let me stay. On Nov. 1, I saw a charge on my credit card, the front desk charged me a $10.99 amenities fee. When I called them, they said they were sorry, but did not offer to remove the charge from my card. I think it is shady of all hotels in general that they do not let you know how much the room really cost. They should change their voicemail message, the person on the voice message you listen to sounds annoyed. Listen to it, the tone of voice is a preview of how you will be treated in person.

I liked the pool and the outdoor firepits.

Comfortable Rooms, Great Location

For the most part we enjoyed our stay at The Ridgeline. We stayed in a room with a fireplace, which , once we figured out how to turn it on, was pleasant, An instruction sheet on operating the fireplace would have been welcome. Having difficulty walking distances, the pain of a long walk was averted by a staff member who stopped me in the hall to tell me that the elevator right next to our room was okay to use, even though it was marked, for employees only, The walk from the door to the other elevator was quite difficult, so I appreciated the staff member telling me to use the closer elevator. The steps from the lobby to the elevator to the room also presented a long distance walk from the steps, to the ramp and up the ramp. Another couple complained to me that it was ridiculous to have steps to get to the elevator level, as they were pulling their rolling luggage up the ramp. Other than that , the Ridgeline was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. The lounge was very nice and the s'mores in the evening was an added bonus. My only other comment is that on the parking lot on the hotel rooms and elevator level, needs more handicap parking stalls. Both evenings that we came back to the hotel, both ADA parking spots were taken. This is a very large parking lot and there are only 2 ADA spots on that level. I suggest adding a few more so a long walk is not necessary.
