Nice little getaway

by stefaniep930

We stayed two nights here in October. The room was clean, breakfast standard and the coffee was good. It was a short walk to bearskin neck. Rockport is so charming, especially in the fall. The colonial houses, the pumpkins and decorations and the foliage. There is no better place.

It’s a motel....

The impression of the lobby walking in was very good, it had been very nicely renovated and the customer service at check in was great. The landscaping and the pool and bonfire area were a very nice touch. The room itself was better than I anticipated, but was overall lacking.
It was really nice to have a microwave and mini fridge in the room, and the room was quite spacious.
The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. I felt like I was being poked in the kidneys with the springs all night long and ended up using the decorative pillow. My husband, who could sleep through a major natural disaster, also complained to me and did not sleep the two nights we were there. The walls were on the thin side and I could hear the neighbor clearly had a cold, and couldn’t stop sneezing. Luckily I brought earplugs!
The bathroom was not clean at all, and the toilet really could have used some attention. There was mildew around the top of the sink and soap stains in the bathroom.
It was nice to have breakfast available and the offerings were decent, but ran out frequently.
I stayed at the Rockport Inn because I was in town for a wedding and the venue was already booked up. Provided my experience, I wouldn’t return if I ever had to come back to the area.
