A short walk from the Farringdon tube & train stations

by Jim P

The Rookery has a nice Victorian bedrooms and common area a a short walk from the Farringdon tube & train stations. The Club Double room had enough room for a chair and table, and the bed was comfortable. (If you’re short, it’s a high climb to get into.) The staff was friendly and helpful.

anniversary stay

We live just outside London, however, a theatre trip to the Barbican coincided with a wedding anniversary. We thought we would treat ourselves to a night away.

We are so pleased we choose the Rookery,
We found it delightful. Low key understated but excellent service and a fantastic room (we had booked a suite but were upgraded and given the Rooks Nest)
The room totally exceeded our expectations beautifully furnished with quirky witty touches, a very opulent roll top bath and four poster bed, with an additional upstairs seating/drinks and dining space.

We loved the fact there isn’t a manned bar (often in small Hotels you wait quite a while to be served) the self service honesty bar was very well stocked and nice to help yourself, as are the bars in the room.

The room service menu is quite short, however, there are many good restaurants Farringdon and Clerkenwell.
We had the in room breakfast which arrived bang on time and was very tasty and well presented.

The rookery is a real Oasis in central London.
The term boutique hotel is much overused these days. The Rookery, however, fits the bill perfectly. Individual, well conceived, and well ran!
