Reviews

Huge rooms and a beautiful property.

by bluegrasstoevergreen

We stayed at Running Y Ranch resort recently for our 6 year anniversary trip and loved every thing about it.
We were coming back from our trip and didn't want the long 10 hour drive straight back home from Tahoe so we decided to split it up and enjoy more areas.
So we chose Klamath Falls due to its great location for visiting Crater lake National Park.
This is our 3rd time to Crater Lake, we love coming back to it and this was our first time seeing it with snow.
We drove in to the Running Y when it was dark and we have to admit we had a little trouble finding the property at first, our GPS was confused too.
Once arriving though it was very nice, they have a nice entryway and lobby.
The check in was great.
The lady who checked me in was really friendly and informative and even walked me over to show me the elevator.
The restaurant inside looked busy and it smelled really good, we were so hungry from driving and hiking all day.
So we got our dog and our bags and when we walked in we were shocked to see how huge the suite was, I booked a golf view king suite because I felt like it sounded like the nicest dog friendly hotel in the area for Crater lake and for our anniversary trip.
I was able to use my AAA discount to get an amazing deal, we were not disappointed, the rooms were massive.
This had an entryway into a full size kitchen with a dining table and chairs and I think the kitchen came with every appliance you could think of, it even includes a garbage disposal.
It also enters into a huge living room area with a nice fireplace, TV, coffee table, Sofa and two chairs.
The living room also leads to the balcony.
Then there is a huge bedroom that's separate from the rest of the suite. It has its own window.
It also had a full chest of drawers and another TV, two nights stands, there's another chair and a huge walk in closet.
I mean its like a huge apartment.
Then the bathroom is huge and kind of strange shaped.
There are 2 separate sink areas, there isn't a whole lot of space on the counter area but there was enough. The shower was clean except for one spider web in the corner of the shower, but I never experienced anything else that wasn't perfect.
The shower was walk in and then there was a toilet across from the shower.
Everything was awesome. They had nice shower products for use.
Then we went down for Dinner and ate at the Ruddy Duck, we had nice and quick service, by the time we'd changed and came down it had cleared out a lot more from when I checked in.
We both ordered a drink and the Fish n Chips and all was good and delicious.
We met a nice couple in the restaurant who ended up chatting with us and buying us a sweet gift from the store in the lodge so that we always remembered each other that was so very kind of them.
We ended up back in the room and watched some scary movies on AMC with the fireplace going , it was very cozy since it was very cold outside.
We also checked out the view from the balcony and was excited to see it in the morning.
The balcony area is covered and also very large.
The bed was the comfiest bed of our entire trip, we just melted into it, I think we slept the best here.
We woke up to a gorgeous morning looking over the huge golf course, we could see the mountains to the left and some fall color and the lake on the course was covered in geese.
We decided on Ruddy Duck again for breakfast and I got the Nutella stuffed french toast with strawberries, it was so delicious.
The fire pit outside of the restaurant is really nice.
We had the best waiter in the morning he was so friendly, we loved him and his wonderful smile and attitude.
We really wished we could have stayed here another night, but we know we will be back one day and will stay longer than one night.
We'd like to check out the mini golf, we just didn't have the time to do it.
We'd also like to bring family to stay here.
Thanks for a great stay.

It's ok

Location is good, not in Klamath but close. Has good amenities, nice pool and hot tub, a little gym and spa (which I did not use), the check in area is nice with a lodge feeling and nice fireplace. Very cozy.
However, the room is dark and tired. Bathroom smelled a little off. Food was expensive and not great. Had a Margarita pizza for $17 and apparently they make it without sauce, so literally pitta bread with a few pieces of tomato and cheese on top. Dinner was better but again expensive.
Did not bring a pack and play because I figured they would have cribs, which they did for $20 a night. Probably best for the area, but a little more for an older crowd.
