Beware quoted prices and other issues

by AdriftUSA

Travel for work, I wanted to extend my day for a few days for leisure. I was quoted a rate for the additional nights that was not honored. When I arrived they quoted $50 more per night. I declined and ended up booking with another hotel. Then out of curiosity, I checked the Marriott website and what a shock, the pricier quote was incorrect! The original lower quote was what was shown on the website for the same room and same nights. Did not like how they made me feel like I was in the wrong and made no concession to rectify the error. Just in case they dispute this, I have taken screen shots of the lower quote on their website.

My stay:
Good: beds are comfortable. Room is clean.
Bad:
Walls are very thin, can hear regular conversation level noise from the rooms next door, hallway, etc. knocking on neighboring rooms sound like knocking at your door!
On check out day 1.5 hour before check out time, someone just randomly came into my room, not housekeeping. She knocked, did not identify herself, and did not wait for any reply before entering abruptly. No explanations were given as to why she came in, just a “sorry...you are checking out at noon right?” She did not introduce herself. What is up with that? Why did they have to come into my room and confirm a check out time??? I was shocked! What if I wasn’t dressed or was not decent? And it is a bit scary being a solo female traveler and having an unknown, unidentified person just enter your room for an unspecified reason. It really shook me up as I have had scary encounters previously that started similarly.

Great location

by Ahems

This was our 3rd time staying at this Marriott. We enjoy the location and appreciate the friendly staff. Free parking, M lounge, great location. This year we made it a point to get out and hike in the foothills above the cith. It was absolutely gorgeous! See you again next year!
