We flew into Tortola Island (EIS), and a hotel representative waited for us after we cleared customs. We were escorted to the hotel transport, and then to the nearby hotel ferry. The hotel has a ferry schedule, but if you have to wait, there is THE cutest, sushi restaurant right next to the ferry dock. The fun music, twinkling lights, and warm welcome put us instantly on island mode. On Scrub Island, we were greeted by a host ready with our refreshing drinks. We checked into our villa, and the complimentary hotel shuttles took us to Donovan's Reef before they closed. The waitresses were kind, and did not rush us, knowing that we had traveled a long way. The grilled Shrimp Mango Salad was delicious!! With help from the concierge, we booked a quick 30-min ferry to The Baths at Virgin Gorda. An excellent half-day excursion to explore the caves and snorkel! Use the taxis, so you don't need to rent a car. For the birthday celebration, Collins Butler, Villa Manager, Raja, the Spa Director, and Raj, F&B Director, accommodated my request to pull THE PERFECT birthday dinner celebration! As a resort first, they approved dinner on the spa premise, overlooking the waters under the full moon. It was the most breathtaking view, with the best service to complement it. We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you to the entire staff for your genuine hospitality. We can't wait to be back and say hello to Collins, Raj, Raja, Justine, Tiffany, Rick, Romar, Junior and Morissa!
If you have a large group, make sure you book one of Scrub Island Resort's houses. The homes have a large common area with a kitchen, dining room table, living room, and a walk out to the private pool. Most houses have two bedrooms connected to the main house. The remaining bedrooms are accessed with private entrances so there is a little separation from the people in your group. The houses are very private and away from the public resort and marina. With a short walk, you are at the resort with the amenities and restaurants.
