WWII Museum And St. James Hotel

by Lawrence K

It was a delightful three days and four nights. Miss Audrey was helpful, friendly, and courteous, especially after my wife fell on NOL's infamous sidewalk(s) and broke her shoulder. Donnie one of the concierges gave a lot of helpful advise and guidance, but the others were also helpful and friendly.
This is a great location for visiting the WWII museum which is why we came on this trip. If you decide to walk be VERY careful as the sidewalks can be treacherous.

Very loud, old hotel but convenient location

by Lauren M

The hotel is situated in easy walking distance to the Garden District, CBD and the French Quarter. However, the hotel was SO noisy that we got very little sleep during our stay. I know that old hotels tend to have quirks, but this one felt run down. The shower took up to 20 mins to heat up, the bathroom walls were rusty, the elevator was clunky and screeched every time we were in it, and the walls to our room were so paper thin that we heard every time someone closed a door, talked in the hallway or in their neighboring room, walked around loudly, etc. Due to how noisy it was (resulting in almost no sleep) and how less-than-fresh the hotel felt, I would not stay there again. The lobby was beautiful but the rooms themselves were too shabby to make it a repeat stay.
