Overview

You could easily spend all of your time never leaving this gargantuan resort perched on a hill with a lovely view of Lake Winnipesauke-but then you’d miss out on the benefits of its prime location, within easy drive of boating and swimming lake, skiing and hiking at Gunstock Mountain, and the city charms of nearby Concord.

The centerpiece of the resort is a large pool complex with two outdoor and two indoor pools, hot tubs, and saunas. The indoor pool, inside a huge glassed-in atrium includes waterslides and fountains. The outdoor pool includes a separate kiddie pool next to a playground area. But that is just the beginning of activities here, which include a basketball court, 9-hole golf course, X-Box game room, sledding hill, and fully stocked fish pond.

Accommodations are made with families in mind, with rooms, suites, and townhouses that can sleep from four to eight people. Among the many room amenities are large flat-screen TVs, gas fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, and balconies looking out on the gorgeous view of the lake below.

Veteran's Day Weekend at Steele Hill

by Missy C

I purchased a Getaway thru II for Veteran's Day Weekend. The getaway was very inexpensive...we knew we would only use 3 nights, and it was still a great deal! We'd never been to Steele Hill before, but knew the area well. I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Our confirmation was for Steele Hill East. I knew this was for the oldest section of the resort. My expectations were low...all I was looking for was "clean and comfortable." We got much more than that! We checked in with no hiccups at all. No mention of any sort of timeshare presentation. Our room was 304. We entered our door, went up one flight of steps, and we were in the unit. This unit was a 2 Bedroom, sleeps 6. The master had a king bed, a nice sized tv, and a balcony which looked out to Lake Winnisquam and the mountains. The bedroom had a 2 person jacuzzi tub. Adjoining bath had a standup shower. The living room was a nice size, and contained another television. The sofa made a bed, and there were FOUR easy chairs in addition to the sofa. Two of these looked out to the lake. There was a 2nd balcony off the living room. A full bath with standup shower here, too. Kitchen had new GE appliances. (Dishwasher, microwave, stove, and full-sized fridge.) Everything I needed for meal prep. The dining area was a little cramped, but we had room for 6 people around the table. Second bedroom had twin beds, a third tv, AND a third bathroom! Shower/tub combo in this one.

There was no washer/dryer in this unit. There was one down the hall in the building. It would have been quite a distance to lug laundry. Since we were only there 3 nights, we didn't need to use the laundry. There is an onsite restaurant. We eat our meals "in," so didn't try it out.

The resort has two indoor pools, two outdoor seasonal pools, an outdoor hot tub, two indoor hot tubs, tennis courts, etc. We will try to come back here in the summer. There is a lot to do onsite. It is about 10 miles to the Tilton Outlets, 10 miles to Weirs Beach and Funspot, 15 miles or so to Gunstock Ski Area. We enjoyed shopping one day, and other than that, we used the pools, read our books and enjoyed the beautiful view.

All in all, a wonderful 3 day weekend. I am looking forward to returning to this resort again!

We love it at Steele Hill. Quiet and a great view. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We asked for help to unload our things and they were right there to help us. Food was very good. Brought any supplies we needed.
