TripAdvisor Rating

Located within walking distance of all of the shops and restaurants of Ketchum, the Tamarack Lodge is still within five minutes of the ski slopes at Sun Valley. This 26-room, three-level property is popular in the winter because of the fireplaces offered in most rooms, the outdoor hot tub and indoor heated swimming pool. Rent bicycles and snowshoes from the front desk. It’s a beautifully rustic lodge with great views of Bald Mountain.

Great time at the tamerack

by wpranch

We were greeted by the friendly and efficient Todd (Todd with two d's) He was super helpful and wanted to make sure we had all we needed upon our arrival. This motel is not your typical cookie cutter motel. It has a lot of character and is located conveniently right down town. But one of the things we loved the most was how welcomed our dog was. The pets are welcome to be right in the court yard which makes it super nice if you are traveling with your four legged friend. If we are ever back in the area we will make this our stop over spot.

Great weekend visit

by loboribi

We had a wonderful weekend in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area, including our stay at Tamarack Lodge. We booked it for the location (right smack in the middle of Dowmtown Ketchum, and liked that it had an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub. Never ended up using those, but it's always nice to have them available. Our upstairs room was large, clean, vaulted ceilings, and a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful! The hotel has 4 bikes that guests can check out for free. They were checked out when we wanted them, but we still had a great time walking to see Hemingway's grave and then down along the bike path and river. Spent all day Saturday in Ketchum/Sun Valley and then went to Craters of the Moon after checking out Sunday and before heading back to the Boise area. We would definitely stay at the Tamarack Lodge again.
