Overview

Talk about ‘if these walls could talk’…

Families with tweens and teens can time travel at the historic Lowe Hotel, built in 1901. As the hotel’s website promises, this is a “step back in time with today’s conveniences.” Guests can choose from “haunted” and “un-haunted” rooms, a wink to the hotel’s paranormal reputation and proximity to the Mothman Museum (celebrating the town’s famous man-bird alien).

A marble staircase, fern-filled public parlor, and antiques in the lobby and the rooms all add up to a fascinating and decidedly old-fashioned hotel.

Located in the town’s historic district, the Lowe sits right in front of Point Pleasant Riverfront Park with an amphitheater, riverfront walking trail, and murals along the floodwall that depict the town’s history as the site of the First Battle of the American Revolutionary War.
