A disappointing stay

by Laikuenwan

Despite there being hundreds of hotels/villas to choose from, we chose this remotely located "hotel" for its proximity to a super luxurious venue where we were due to attend a wedding reception.
That physical proximity, and the freshly cooked breakfast, were the only "pluses".
The minuses include: very dim lighting, blinds which haven't been dusted for a long time, shower heads and taps which yearned for some scrubbing, bad TV reception, and the sudden appearance of a cockroach on my pillow after I returned from the shower.
However, the wifi was excellent, mainly because it was a dedicated dongle (wifi egg) permanently placed inside our villa. Also, Gede, the manager/chef/caretaker/driver tried to do his best, helped by a couple of ladies who spoke little English.
In all, the villa needs some thorough, extensive cleaning, and more lights please.

Quiet paradise

I stayed here because my flight landed at midnight and I didn't want to pay top dollar just to sleep. Overall my experience was very good.
I arrived at midnight and because of the amount of private cars it's really hard to pick out yours. Also, I called the number they gave me and there was no answer. If I was to do it again I might send a photo as well. After awhile trying to find the driver we finally found each other and he was extremely nice. The van was comfortable, cool and he was a very good and cautious driver.
The setup of the villas is one main villa and a few small ones. The one I stayed in was comfortable with a bug lamp, nice bedding, well decorated, tv with English channels and water. It did have AC, but was still hot and muggy for me. They are all really old, which is really cool and charming, but also made me nervous with bugs.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent and was included - eggs made to order, meat, fruit, fresh juice and bread.
The main house is really beautiful. It is decorated very modern and authentic at the same time - loved! The small villas did not have a pool so maybe check that the main house isn't rented if that is important to you. The infinity pool at the main house is fantastic!!
They were extremely accommodating and let me check out late since I landed late and drove me to my next hotel. Overall it felt like I was the only one there - in a good way!
