Beware!!!! Disting

by burtonbj

Arrived around midnight due to flight being late. Although the bed was clean and somewhat comfortable the bathroom was disgusting. When we walked in the front door the floor was awash in water. The front desk gave us towels to put on the down. At 1 am we did not want to move to another room which could have been just as bad.
There were also some very shady looking characters hanging around there late at night.

Good location and that's about it

We were in Kona with a large group for the Ironman race. My husband was competing so we wanted to be close to everything. This hotel is in the middle of it all and even hosts some Pro Athlete panels. Aside from that, there is NO reason to stay here. In our first room, the AC barely worked at all and we knew we wouldn't sleep. We moved rooms to have an AC that worked, but sprayed water everywhere--ALL our stuff that was anywhere near the vent was soaked, as was the floor the entire time. We had originally paid for a "kitchenette" across the street but found it was just two burners--that was the only difference between a "kitchenette" and a regular room so we switched to a regular. For being a family-owned business that seems to take pride in the fact that it has been on the island for years, they sure don't show that in the way they care for (or lack thereof) their place.
