Wyndham Kona recreates the traditional island feel with traditional luaus and Hawaiian sculptures. However, the resort still provides modern amenities for an upscale stay. Nestled in a secluded area and surrounded by lush gardens, it’s a good idea to rent a car at this resort. It is four-miles from the closest beach, two miles from a grocery store and not many pedestrian paths are provided to the nearest town. Luxurious two-bedroom accommodations at the resort have lanais, living rooms with pull-out sofas, washer/dryer units and fully-equipped kitchens. Suites fit up to six family members comfortably. Two pools, one a children’s pool, are at the resort. A picnic area with barbeque pits makes for some quality family meals. Kids and adults can also take part in classes that teach lei making, hula dancing or ukulele playing. The Kailua-Kona area of Big Island is known for its beaches and mild weather. Guests at Wyndham Kona can walk to the village for ocean activities and exciting attractions.

We thoroughly enjoyed this resort. Many friendly staff and wonderful beds! Great location once you figure out how to get off of Alii Drive when it is busy. One pool was closed but we found the one pool was still very enjoyable and they had fresh cold water and juice and frozen treats at the pool. We spend most of our teip in the big ocean so resort amenities are not too important but this place was very enjoyable .

This is a very nice resort for those who want a nice place to stay with lots of room and clean, but are willing to drive a bit to experience the island. The staff was great and a good location on the island.
