Dream vacation

Most wonderful place in Napa valley to stay. Beautiful surroundings, excellent customer services and enjoyed the trip to hill top vineyards. Nice restaurant in the complex and very inviting lobby. Shuttle service to and from the resort helped us going to downtown and explore the nearby areas.

The Sales Pressure is Too Much

by Bruce H

I cannot understand how Shell (now Wyndham) continues to focus on sales over service! The contrivance of requiring guests to visit the concierge to get a parking pass is nothing more than an attempt to sell more timeshare points. A polite "no" is not enough to turn down the sales meeting. A polite "no" on the follow up phone call the next morning is not enough to turn down the sales meeting. I've already spent many thousand dollars with them. Why do they not focus on the quality of my experience?

When I look past the sales pressure, I can enjoy the clean, comfortable room, which is nicely furnished. But sound proofing against inside noise is lacking. Every time the guests next door came in our out, the doors slammed, and they sounded as if they were in our room because the shared foyer between each of two units amplifies every sound. On other stays, we've noted the sound from the room above. These noises detract significantly from sleep that otherwise might be good -- with a comfortable bed and reasonable blocking of external light.

Note that although the "studio" is furnished with a washer and dryer, it has neither a cook top nor a dishwasher, so cooking options are limited.
