Families looking for luxury in the Windy Cindy needn’t look further than the AAA Five-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Chicago. This 188-room hotel is consistently rated as one of the best large city hotels in the continental U.S., and for good reason.
Located in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, the Waldorf Astoria Chicago is close to all the shops, restaurants and fun awaiting families on the Magnificent Mile and Oak Street.
Accommodations vary, but each room in this award-winning hotel includes, at the very least, a full bath with inset LCD TV, queen or king beds, complimentary Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a 42-inch flat-screen TV, an iPod integrated surround sound system, a large work desk and at least 614 square feet of space. There are also connecting rooms for families, as well as pet-friendly accommodations.
Guests are also allowed access to a full-service Elysian Spa & Health Club, along with a world-class fitness center located on the 4th floor — including its indoor swimming pool.
Balsan is the Waldorf’s onsite restaurant, providing guests with stylish, upscale dining. Serving delicious items for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends, this sophisticated, truly seasonal European bistro will not disappoint. Menu items include things like gazpacho, beef tartare, dry aged sirloin steak, veal, Margherita flatbread pizza and much more. There is no kid’s menu.

The hotel is amazing but it would be nothing without the WONDERFUL people that works here.
You will not hear any off then saying: "sorry, I can't do that for you..." All of them are willing to run the extra mile to make sure that our stay was amazing.
WA Chicago is our go-to place when we are in the city. This was the case during our most recent trip over the Labor Day. We stayed at the Junior suite. There is plenty of room for 2 adults and a teen. The booking was made through Amex FHR, so the stay came with $30 breakfast credit for 2 people and on time $100 property credit. There was no room upgrade, though. As always, Cafe Margeaux was wonderful for breakfast. Room amenities are top notch. Everyone we talked to was pleasant and smiling. I would consider to be a better location than Park Hyatt or Four Seasons. Overall, one of the best luxury properties in the US.
