Overview

This lovely resort spans 52 acres on Prince of Wales Island, accessible only by air and sea, and offers some of the best that Alaska has to offer. Whether you’re visiting for the beautiful nature, the legendary sport fishing, or some of the best whale watching in the country, a stay at Waterfall Resort won’t disappoint — though be aware that fishing is definitely the primary focus. All rooms have ocean or forest views, plus in-room amenities including mini-fridges and coffee makers.

Families, choose between the small Boardwalk Cabins (two double beds), the more spacious two-story Tongass Townhouses (two double, two twin, full kitchen), the Egg House Suites (two queens, wraparound decks), or a standard lodge room (two double) above the general store. When you’re not out on the water, hike the trails along the creek and pay a visit to the waterfall that inspired the resort’s name. When you’re back and hungry, head to the Dining Room for a feast at the nightly dinner buffet. Aa breakfast buffet is available in the mornings too.

Amazing Fishing Trip

by Debbie W

We went here August 2008 (that option was not available when I entered this review) it was fabulous. The people, the fishing, the nature, the environment. It was all great. I am not an experienced Fisher person and it was still very fun. The smaller daily boats made it for food family time. We caught our limit everyday and they flash froze and sent all our fish home. I dont eat or cook fish so our friends also really enjoyed the spoils of our wonderful vacation. We want to take the children here when they are old enough.

A place to make you love the sport

by Harrison W

I a very organized and active experience. A beautiful place to fish and a wonderful staff. It was my first time fishing ever and be the time we were leaving, I knew that I loved fishing that this was the place that made me love it.

As fun as this place was I would suggest adding something for kids like a pool or hot tub. These things would be really nice to have, especially after a long day on the boat.
