Wyndham Kingsgate presents one- and two-bedroom suites with partial or full kitchens, washer/dryer units, living rooms with pullout sofas and oversized bathrooms. Rooms display period decors that compliment the historically rich area; however, modern amenities accent the units, like flat-screen televisions and DVD players. Kids stay free with parents. On the grounds, there are three indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a barbeque picnic area, a playground and a video gaming complex. A miniature golf course and a movie theater are also onsite. Fun activities are planned on a daily basis for children and adults. King’s Fare restaurant serves American-inspired favorites like burgers and pizza. It is near the Recreation Center, offering sit-down meals or take out. The resort is only a mile from the Williamsburg historical area. Families can also check out the nearby Busch Gardens for a more thrilling adventure. Oftentimes, guests receive discounted tickets to area attractions at the front desk.

I am sorry to give this resort only 1 star. We were there on a week exchange and only had time to stay 3 nights/4 days and said so at check in. We also attended the information luncheon, something we never do, but the pressure at check in was such that we agreed. Not recommended. Resist. The resort is lovely and is very family friendly. The reason for 1 star is the resort fee charge. We told the check in clerk we would be leaving sometime on Tuesday. At check out, my daughter went in with the keys, gave them to the same clerk and said goodbye. They charged my credit card for 7 days, when we were there four, depending on how you count. When I saw the charge on my credit card, I called and after some time on hold, I was informed there was no record of us checking out early. I said I have a record of the hotel we stayed in in Richmond for the rest of the week and was it worth a few bucks to them to get a 1 star rating. Seems so. Nothing they could do about it. I probably could fight the charge on my credit card, but would rather let the internet know of this tactic of Wyndam.
We had a great time, the resort offered us so many different activities, lots of pools, indoor and outdoor.Conveniently located to all the attractions in the old part of Williamsburg and the college as well as to Jamestown and Yorktown - lots of history everywhere.
