Reviews

Great place in an ideal location

by GregD841

The Alder Inn is well located just a ten minute walk to Lake Tahoe and the Ski Run Marina which is where the Safari Rose cruises depart. See my separate review. I also took a bus trip around the lake which has a pick up at a bus stop outside the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort.

My room had a very comfortable bed, a small refrigerator and tea and coffee provisions. In short, it has all you need.
It was too cold to use their pool but they have a well heated jacuzzi available year round. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, including a Whole Foods so you don’t need to drive.

Getting to the Alder Inn from Reno Airport if you don’t want to drive is a cinch. You take the South Tahoe Airporter to Lakeside and get a Lyft/Uber the rest of the way which takes 10 minutes. Book your return bus trip from MontBleu which is their last casino drop-off. This avoids having to sit on the bus as they do drop-offs and
pick-ups.

I’m so glad I didn’t base myself at the casinos. They’re nowhere near as close to the actual lake and they reminded me of the tacky parts of Niagara Falls!

The Alder Inn was better priced, is in a superior location and the management was great with customer service/email inquiries etc.

Lastly, Lake Tahoe is so worth the visit. Don’t miss it!

Nice place and very clean. Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Never drove our car once we got there. We have stayed here 3 times now. Recommend this Inn. Very reasonable priced as well. **********
