Overview

Sprawling the hillside on the western side of the tip of the Baja peninsula, about a 15-minute ride from downtown, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa offers relief from crowded Cabos beaches. But, like many of Los Cabos’ resorts, no ocean swimming is allowed because of currents. The oversized rooms offer families plenty of space; the top-level accommodations come with kitchenettes. At the Kids Club, ages 4 to 11 enjoy crafts, beach games and splashing in the kiddie pool. The program operates half- and full-day sessions, and you can book by the hour. The resort also operates a complimentary shuttle to its sister properties on Medano Beach.

Beautiful

We stayed here for only a few short days as we were looking for places to have our wedding the following year in Cabo. Pueblo Bonito Sunset was absolutely amazing!

The room were great, very slightly outdated and rough around the edges but that's to be expected. The pool service was great; we were at the Lower Terrace for the Sky Pool and at the adults only pool.

There was one thing that I honestly did not like: the timeshare representative. Harass me all you want in the lobby when I come in, but do NOT harass me while I am eating lunch at the Bistro. That is completely unprofessional and very annoying. Even if I WAS interested, I wouldn't even think twice to say NO because I was interrupted during a meal especially when I'm talking to my significant other. Not to mention, the same woman remembered us from the previous day but decided to ask again anyway even knowing we were under 30. Just stop.

When we were at the Sky Pool Lower Terrace, there were a few gentlemen jumping off the higher terrace pool into the lower one. Even after getting told quite a few times to stop, he and his companions never did. At one point, he almost hit his head against the outcropping of "rocks." After the 10th time, they cut him off with drinks. Didn't stop him. I honestly think, at this point, he should have been cut off sooner and have been kicked out as well. He was disruptive and nobody enjoyed it, and was clearly wasted.

Food was great, however. Restaurants were amazing. It's annoying, but understandable, to get receipts for everything even when you're on an all-inclusive plan. Somebody in one of the other restaurants apparently used our room number and added on a large tip and signed my name. Only found out during check-out. They compared signatures and realized it wasn't mine. There should be some sort of fail-safe for this as that is not right whatsoever. That night we happened to stay in and order room service.

The resort is built into a mountain-side so in order to get around the resort you either get your cardio in or you hail a golf cart. We had absolutely no problem getting a golf cart; we never waited more than 3-5 minutes for one. When you see a golf cart, wave your hand and they will come and grab you. Guess we are used to hailing taxis in NYC.

Despite the very few hiccups, the resort was breathtaking and amazing. Everyone always had a smile on their face and would greet you with "hola." The resort was clean and food was great.

We booked our wedding here for the following year. :) Cannot wait to come back!

Wouldn’t go back. golf cart hell

Although our room and balcony faced the ocean it was incredibly noisy from the pool and bar and restaurant below playing loud American music by cover bands. One day they played soft Mexican music and it was so nice but it didn’t last long. The grounds and rooms were well kept but you had to take a golf cart anywhere on the grounds, walking was not safe in the cart lanes. My kidneys will never be the same. It often took 20 minutes for a cart to arrive so you had to plan ahead for any activity requiring transportation and spend time waiting around. The restaurants on site were decent, the Bistro was my favorite. La Frida looked interesting but I wasn’t going to pay $30 USD per person just for the privilege of ordering an expensive meal. I would consider staying at their Blanco resort in town if I ever went back.
