Four historic buildings comprise this boutique hotel which is located at Nelson’s Dockyard, overlooking the harbor where beautiful boats dock daily. The hotel offers a variety of spacious, luxury accommodations. All standard rooms are air conditioned and feature one king sized bed or two twin beds. Suites have king size beds and pullout sofas.
There are two onsite restaurants — an upscale seafood venue and a more casual poolside eatery, as well as a small, private lounging beach. Laundry service, babysitting, kayak rentals and a shuttle to a larger swimming beach (a five-minute ride) are all available.
The hotel also features an infinity pool complete with comfy loungers and hammocks for relaxing the day away. There’s even a spa onsite. Babysitting, rollaway beds and laundry service are all available upon request. Wi-Fi and parking are complimentary.

We just returned from a wonderful trip. We stayed in the Gunpowder Suites for 7 days. The room was extremely comfortable with AC and a beautiful bathroom, Our room overlooked the infinity pool and the harbor,so the view was stunning, The staff was attentive, but not overbearing. You can tell they care for their guests! One night we had dinner at a nearby restaurant. We drove there but returned by the restaurant’s water taxi. The hotel security guard came to our room to be sure we were ok, since our car was missing!
We ate lunch at Boom and dinner and breakfast at Pillars. The breakfast was nice and filling. Dinners are expensive, but so are most of the restaurants on the island. You can’t beat the view...sitting right in the water, so it was worth it!
We also took full advantage of the short boat ride to Galleon Beach where we saw turtles, rays and tons of fish. We also spent some time at the gorgeous infinity pool and just relaxing on a hammock. Overall, a beautiful spot...so picturesque! We would definitely recommend this hotel!
My wife and I have stayed in many Hotels, B&B's, Villas etc. over the years. They range from the super-opulent to the down and dirty basic (depending on location and need). In our experience, when you stay somewhere you just know instinctively whether you will feel comfortable and happy there. The highest accolade for a place of stay is simply to say "It felt like home".
That is what our stay in Admirals Inn was like. The location was fantastic, the staff could not have done more (thank you Emma, Shama, Cecil and Reggie...to name but a few). The rooms are good; could do with a little TLC I would have to say but definitely a place we will stay again.
The all inclusive places on Antigua are great but frankly, you can keep them, our home is Admiral's Inn. Give it a try, maybe you will feel like us too!
