South Point is a quaint, modern hotel located right alongside English Harbour. Each of the hotel’s condo-style suites overlooks the water. Guests can choose between the standard one-bedroom suites and two-bedroom Penthouse suites, all with full kitchens, dining areas, balconies overlooking the water and lounge areas. Every room has a walk-in closet, cable television, IPod docking station, bathrobes and stocked minibar. Continental breakfast, in-room coffee, tea and bottled water, Wi-Fi and parking are provided free of charge. Connecting rooms are available. Cots should be requested in advance to ensure availability.
The hotel features both an upscale restaurant and a more casual option. There’s a spa and a fitness center, as well as a pool overlooking the harbor. Laundry service, drycleaning, babysitting and room service are all available upon request. There is small, private beach, however some of Antigua’s most popular beaches are located within walking distance as well, as are a number of restaurants and bars.

We checked in late last night, security took care of us and let us in. We stayed until 1pm, no pressure to check out, both security and Clarissa at front desk were very kind, we would return.
The cicada are loud though and chirp until daybreak.
We were staying nearby and thought we would look at alternative hotels for future visits.
The reception/bar area was almost deserted and, when we found a member of staff, we ordered some beers which took a while to arrive. When the barman eventually arrived, he poured the first beer so badly that about 25% of it ended up on the table. I waited in anticipation of an apology, a clean up and a fresh beer. All I got was a stupid joke about a good beer needing a good head!!
When we eventually finished what was left of our beers (other than the puddle on the table) and requested the bill, It took a full 15 minutes to get someones attention, get the bill and get our change.
Given that this hotel positions itself at the 'boutique' end of the market - with bar prices to match, I felt it appropriate to point out my dissatisfaction with the service to the duty manager. She responded by turning around and walking away from me, shutting the office door behind her.
It was so awful we had to laugh all the way back to our hotel.
Needless to say, we will not be putting this place on our list of possible future venues.
