Overview

First established in 1929 as housing for wealthy oil barons, the Ambassador is rich in history and luxury. Today, it is a 50-room boutique hotel; most of the rooms are intended for couples, but families enjoy staying in the queen/queen guestroom with an additional rollaway bed or crib if needed. Rooms come with complimentary bottled water, Keurig coffee, Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges. The property is located a few blocks from downtown, so the hotel is quiet but also convenient.

A number of breakfast options are available at varying costs — continental breakfast, grab-n-go, or full American. Enjoy The Chalkboard restaurant onsite for all three meals in a European-bistro atmosphere. A variety of other restaurants can be found nearby.

Re-visit just as nice as before!

by UtahKPK

We last stayed at the Ambassador 2 years ago, and the room and service were just as lovely as before. The proximity to downtown and Utica Square area makes it a great location if you want to shop or eat out - but the Chalk Board restaurant and bar are more than fine for staying in. We've opted for the Executive King rooms both times (804 and 603, both corner rooms) and think are worth the extra money. They welcome our small dog with a bed and treats and nominal $50 charge. We also used the hotel shuttle service - but during popular events like Oktoberfest, you have to be patient (we ended up using Uber for the return trip). This is a beautiful hotel and we will return again.

Oldie but Goody

This hotel is a grand old lady. It has been thoroughly updated. The person/s who decorated it did an excellent job. The colors are soft and pleasing. Our room #707 was a corner room. It was beautiful and laid out with a lot of thought.
The staff are excellent and helpful to a fault. Example, on the Saturday that we were there, we were to go to a wedding in a town about an hour away. We were getting ready and I realized that I had forgotten to pack a tie to go with my Blazer. It was way too late to go anywhere to shop. I told Michelle at the front desk. She asked me to wait at the desk. She left and I saw her go to various parts of the hotel. She came back with a tie that saved the day. We got to the wedding on time and appropriately dressed. But that isn't the end of the story. At the wedding, we got caught in the rain. It ruined the tie. On returning the tie, I offered to pay for it. She said that there was no charge. She would take care of it.
Another person that needs recognition is Bobby. He was so patient with us. We simply could not figure out the coffee maker in our room. I'm ashamed to say that it took three trips to our room to finally get it right.
The food and drinks in the bar/restaurant were top notch.
