This hotel is old, poorly staffed, unprofessional and dirty! The toilet in our bathroom had a busted top. The shower was filthy so we didn’t use it. The room lacked the refrigerator and microwave as advertised. They brought a refrigerator to the room after I called and complained. There are no elevators in this hotel and our room was on the 3rd floor. We paid $86 for one night. It wasn’t worth $25. Avoid this hotel unless you’re just desperate. We had to stay because of two local sporting events and all other hotels were full.

A couple of decades ago, this property was a Super 8, well maintained and very clean. It changed hands and went downhill. That was not a problem as Alex City had other motels being built and the competition lowered prices and improved the selection. This past weekend, we decided to stay here based on the advertising special price. I was concerned due to its recent past, but upon checking in, we were delighted with the changes the property is undergoing. The carpet was clean, the bathroom sparkling, bed mattress was firm and the reception was friendly. The room is dimly lit. It could stay at least another lamp and the TV set requires an orientation by the owner, but since we didn't have time for TV, it did not matter. Over all, this is the best deal for the money around Alexander City and we'll return.
