Giving Disney Resorts a run for their money!

by NewlywedsOnTheGo

What a surprise to arrive at midnight and be treated to a brand new renovated family suite. Beautifully completed and instantly comfortable, the Camelot group did a wonderful job. Renovations are completed to a level of finishing you would find at the Grand. Plush carpeting is a plus and a rarity in today’s hotel market. Our son, who is autistic, instantly gravitated to the ceiling high head boards and made himself right at home. Our birthday bash is off to a great start thanks to this wonderful (and affordable) room.

Great location, large rooms, beds not great

We stayed here for 10 days at the end of April/beginning of May. The exterior is charming. The front desk staff were fine, not overtly friendly, but they got us checked in quickly.

We opted for a family suite. It was huge. We had more than enough room for four people. Plenty of storage. The kitchenette and table were awesome! Hands down the best way to stay!

We enjoyed our stay here, overall. The room was always very clean when we came back and it was mostly very quiet. We stayed during construction so it was surprisingly how little it actually affected us. When we did see construction staff they were super polite.

The concierge was awesome. Because of construction we had to have our car parked and retrieved each time we left. They did a great job and even offered tips for getting around faster!

The pool is tiny (but heated). There no getting around that. But it was empty a lot so we never had to worry about crowds when we were swimming. It’s 3-feet all the way across.

Getting to the park was super easy! Less than 7 minutes to get to security at DL. We watched fireworks from our balcony at least three times.

A few drawbacks
The rooms and elevators were super dated. I know they are remodeling them all so I’m sure that’ll help a lot. The ice machine didn’t work on our floor at all the entire time we were there. The bathroom light was a nightmare. Literally. Creepy murder hotel lighting. I hope the remodel will take care of that.

The biggest deterrent for me was the beds. They were so uncomfortable. Way too firm. I’m not anti firm mattress but these were crazy! The bedding was cozy and warm though, and the pillows were fine.

Overall I say go. The hotel is clean and close to the parks and some dining. I’d love to head back once they’re done with the remodel :)
