Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a year-round mountain resort with hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding and more. Located in Crested Butte, Colorado, the resort is amidst the small town that lacks large chain stores, but offers a ton of charm. Families can ski more than 1,500 acres, enjoying 15 lifts, 121 trails and two terrain parks. Tubing and snow bikes are also available for resort guests, the latter a true Crested Butte experience. Other activities include zip-lining, an adventure park, snowshoe tours, cross-country skiing, winter horseback riding, snowmobiles, sleigh rides and more.
Lodging is available at the mountain resort at The Lodge at Mountaineer Square, the Grand Lodge Hotel & Suites and The Plaza. All are family-friendly and close to the activities on the mountain.
Dining is available at the three lodging options, as well as at the mountain resort. There are 15 dining options for every meal and for every type of palate at the mountain resort. So take your pick!
Ski season is from late November through early April. Kids often ski free during the first weeks of the season, too. Half-day lift tickets start from $77 for adults (18 to 64), $70 for teens (13 to 17) and $43 for kids (7 to 12); kids 6 and under are free.
The easiest way to get to the mountain resort is to fly into the Gunnison/Crested Butte Regional Airport, which services major airlines from around the U.S. Alpine Express then takes families from the airport to the resort (fees may apply).
