Immaculate Conception Cathedral

Immaculate Conception Cathedral

Plaza de la Republica, Mazatlan

The Italian marble and yellow paint may be a surprise to some fans of European architecture, but the combination is perfectly Mexican. Visitors are welcome to go inside to see the colorful artwork, but as this is a functioning church (there are often weddings taking place), be considerate and respectful.

Kids may not appreciate the ornate detailing, but the good news is that the cathedral can be a quick pit stop on the way to nearby restaurants.
