Your kids will love visiting more than 2,000 animals in natural settings and swoon over baby additions of all types that seem to appear every year. The zoo has been home to a red panda, baby rhino, baby lemur twins and baby elephants. It’s also home to not only their parents but also to meerkats, tigers, monkeys, giraffes, gorillas, tarantulas and more. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is ranked as one of the nation’s top children’s zoos by Allen W. Nyhus, zoo critic and author of The Zoo Book, A Guide To America’s Best.
