Family Activities:

Templo de Debod

Attraction

No, there wasn’t originally a Roman temple in the city of Madrid. But in 1972, the seal was broken and Spanish visitors and tourists alike were welcomed inside this 2nd-century BC temple after it had been received as a gift from the Egyptian government, transported carefully and then rebuilt brick by brick.

While you cannot get inside the temple, it is still worth a revisit, especially at dusk when the lights surrounding the site paint the ancient structure in beautiful orange-yellow light and the waterways that surround the temple reflect so evocatively.
