There is something about Times Square that calls like a beacon to visitors of the Big Apple. If you miss Times Square, you miss seeing the heartbeat of New York City, thumping loudly with an array of noise, color and light. At night, the lights and billboards of Times Square and Broadway illuminate the dark in such a way that my own children declared upon seeing Times Square for the first time at night: “It’s like daytime!” The area is so popular that the streets have been closed to traffic and made pedestrian-friendly; not to mean they are, as the throes of people can make it difficult to navigate. Here, families can find some of the city’s best musicals, such as “The Lion King” and “Annie,” and shop in stores that are attractions themselves, like the M&M World and Toys ‘R Us, which features an indoor Ferris Wheel.

It’s exactly like I imagined, busy, noisy and with something happening on every corner. Wonderful visit.
