Less crowded and easier to access than most other beaches in the area, Torrance State Beach is 40 acres of sand and home to the Strand Beach Bicycle Trail. There are bathrooms, outdoor showers, and a lifeguard station, and the beach attracts more families with kids and elderly people than surrounding beaches.
There’s a steep, sloped path down to the beach, and be aware that bicyclers have been known to zip down the path despite warning signs that it is pedestrian-only. Metered parking. Always open.
