Excellent Staff and Location

by NicksOnlineReviews

I've stayed here several times in the past. It is a very nice resort-like hotel in a great location. The staff at this hotel is phenomenal. All rooms are good.. sometimes I prefer ocean side and sometimes I prefer marina side. When I checked in this time, Jonathan upgraded me to a large ocean side room. There is the Baleen restaurant on the same property which is a nice high end restaurant. It also has happy hour and musical performances certain nights of the week. Other restaurants in the area include Joe's Crab Shack, Bluewater Grill, Captain Kidd's fish market, Ruby's diner, Cheesecake Factory and many others on Redondo Beach pier which is within walking distance. I usually ride a bike when I'm here. The bikes are included in the price of the resort fee. Gene helped me out this time. Great person and very friendly and helpful. When I'm riding a bike I usually go to Hermosa Beach pier where there are many shops and restaurants also. As mentioned before, the hotel has an excellent staff. The bartender, James, is always friendly and provides a very pleasant atmosphere. Since I've been here several times recently, I've noticed there are a lot of the same people at the bar. That's a very good sign that guests keep returning to the bar. Also, I need to Mention Deanna. I literally locked myself out of my room twice in one night. I felt so embarrassed, but she was very kind and made me feel comfortable about it. The next day when I would walk into the lobby, she always said "welcome back" as did the other front desk employees. So I highly recommend this hotel.

Portifino

The room I originally booked was different then provided, then I was supposedly "upgraded' I had booked into a suite. Room Service came, but since I was on the patio could hear them at the door, and they did not try and ring the room. Overall it's a comfortable place.
