Nestled along two kilometers of sandy beach, Barcelo Bavaro is an upscale, luxury hotel. The resort is in Playa Bavaro and Punta Cana is the next nearest town. The 1,402-room family resort received a $330-million renovated in 2012, which added the adjacent 589-room adults-only Barcelo Bavaro resort, where grandparents may want to stay while on a trip with the entire family. The renovation also added a new teen activities complex that includes a water park and a night club, the new Barcu kids’ club, and a spa. Fourteen restaurants offer diverse cuisine, from classic French and Japanese to seafood and Spanish tapas.
The all-inclusive resort offers a variety of activities and entertainment, including water sports like kayaking, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, jet skiing, paddle boarding and more. The resort features several pools, 18-hole mini golf, 1,300-seat cruise ship-like theater, and the Pirate Island water park. Destination excursions can be arranged, and unique experiences such as cooking lessons, dance lessons and a visit to the resort’s bird sanctuary are also offered.
Rooms feature balconies, air conditioning and televisions. Bathrobes and slippers greet guests on arrival. Suites present additional bathrooms, televisions and closets. Bicycle rentals and touring excursions help guests explore the area. Babysitting services are available on request. All-inclusive rates cover all meals, beverages and activities at the resort.

Wendy Gonzales made our family trip sensational by going beyond the norm to ensure the 9 of us were happy and comfortable! Amazing service, courteous and followed through.
Wendy is just one of the many reasons that this is our fifth vacation to Barcelo Palace. Beach and pools are amazing-something for all ages.
I am a picky about food and the quality and selection even at the buffet restaurants is excellent!
Thank you Barcelo! We will keep coming back and recommending you!
Most disappointing vacation experience we've ever had. Our family of 5 arrived on 12-2-18 and Staff at the Barceló Bavaro Palace are not friendly at all, so we figured it might be cultural and moved on to check in which was pretty fast but not accommodating. Our family booked this vacation along with other family staying at the same hotel (12 members total). We had tried reserving dinners before arriving and were told because we had the premium all inclusive we could just do it together during check-in. That was a big lie we were not granted any dinners together at check in. According to them there was no space available for our group until after 10pm which if you have young children is literally impossible to do. So we proceeded to our rooms. Not at all what we had seen online. The so called Family Junior Suite Premium Level was worse than a run down Motel 6, had huge dead roaches on the floor next to our bed, door between rooms didn't lock, sheets we're dirty, bathroom showers were disgusting, filled with grime and mold on walls, shower water could not be adjusted, it was either cold or scorching hot, air conditioner was not working in one of the bedrooms. One small fridge for both rooms which was not cold at all and could not be adjusted. I immediately called the front desk to notify them of all the issues and was told maintenance and cleaning crew would be sent ASAP, I requested a room change and was transferred to about five different extensions having to explain the reason all five times until I spoke to Elvis and he stated that because of hotel availability we would have to stay in the same room but would be able to switch room by Tues. 12-4 which never happened. At this point I had already wasted more than 2 hours on the phone with no positive outcome. I was so upset but decided that I would not waste any more of my families vacation time trying to compromise with rude incompetent staff. Staff is not very informative and everyone seems to get bugged when asked questions about amenities. The location was beautiful. Beach was nice but full of sea weed. Food was very bad and restaurant accommodations are impossible to get at a decent time even though no restaurant was even half full when we had dinner. Plenty to do for the whole family but everything is so far apart because of the size of Hotel. No wait in beach or pool areas, very disappointing because who wants to dressed to go get something to eat when trying to relax. Overall this was a horrible experience and would not wish it upon anyone. After so much time planning and money spent on this trip I really tried to make the most of it but it was pretty difficult. We'll never return here.
