Great Location & Friendly Staff!

by Jennifer D

My 2 tweens & I spent 2 nights at the Belvedere Beach Resort. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Our housekeepers, Sirin and Nattikan (hope I got the names correct!) did a fine job cleaning our room and were friendly when we passed them in the hall. We loved the bikes to borrow and went on 2 delightful bike rides on the boardwalk. The Belvedere is located towards the north end of the boardwalk, where there is a lot less activity and plenty of space on the beach. Right outside the hotel is a big kid & grown up array of climbing ropes & bars. Great fun for my kids to try and fun to watch others. The tiny Belvedere Coffee Shop was convenient for breakfast, servings were large and the staff was amazing at moving fast in very tight quarters and keeping a smile on while juggling heaping plates and lines of hungry diners. I will say that while the Belvedere is charming, well situated and very friendly - it is much in need of a renovation. If you want new, up to date, spacious - look elsewhere. If you want charm, great location and friendly folks - the Belvedere is a great spot.

Good location but needs work.

For the most part, the stay was ok . As in all hotels along this stretch, the view is great from balconies. Bedding was clean and enjoyed the balcony. The staff is friendly enough most of the time.
On the down side, this place is run down. There is stuffing coming out of the furniture in the lobby which does not make a good first impression. The bathroom and tub was terrible, the tub bottom ugly, stained, and peeling. Water pressure in shower good though. The smell in the room's entry was so bad we bought a can of Lysol and that helped, as did running the AC. The people next door talking very loudly well into the night past midnight, and fighting and cussing during the day were not a nice experience, but the hotel can't help that, I suppose. The mattresses were very hard and lumpy. Doors slamming loudly a lot. There was also a puddle of water in front of the room door after rain. The parking lot spaces were narrow, but this was better than a parking garage. Pool is out front in parking lot. Overall we had a nice time on the Beach, but will try a different hotel next time.
