Overview

Spend your Fijian vacation on secluded Beqa island. Enjoy cool ocean breezes when you stay in the Resort’s spacious open-air villas. Family comes first at the Beqa Lagoon Resort. Bassinets and highchairs are provided, and the older kids can attend “Sea Camp” while their parents enjoy some alone time. Adventurous families can dive with the sharks, parasail, and embark on a waterfall trek. For a calmer experience, the resort suggests a secluded beach picnic, sunset cruise, or Fijian cooking class. Families can also explore the island by boat, take guided tours of local villages, and snorkel in the calm lagoon.

Reviews

Superbe diving, accomodations, friendliness; poor food accomodation

by Lori R

My experience at Beqa Lagoon Resort was generally superbe. All the staff were incredibly friendly and wanting and willing to help, always genuinely and with a smile.

The room we got was very spacious (actually huge) but I didn't realize it wasn't a stand alone bure but a four-plex. That ended up being okay as the room was more spacious, and I liked the location. The only bad part was that there were young adults below and I had to get out of bed to ask them to quiet their music. They did without fanfare.

The dive masters were very attentive and helpful and the dive sites were fabulous.

My only complaint - and for me it is a bit of big one - they didn't properly accommodate my dietary needs. This in spite of notifying and checking with Dive the World (the intermediary I booked with) on numerous occasions AND communicating DIRECTLY with the resort in advance, asking if they could accommodate my husband and I as vegans. I asked for soy milk as well. They confirmed that they could do this.

When I arrived, they said they had no notes of my dietary restrictions. They said that they would work something out.

First meal they served, was not vegan. It included butter. This in spite of my explicitly explaining what vegan is (no milk, no fish, no meat, no chicken, no butter...). They corrected this at dinner. But... the following day, they gave me a bland meal with steamed beans as I asked for beans, noting that we need protein, not just vegetables and white rice. They couldn't get it right even with the manager and resort manager's intervention. There weren't options for us at any breakfast aside from fruit and white bread - not nutritious. Other dinners -- I asked for beans because there was only veg and rice and they said they had none and if peas would work (this in spite that the resort collects new guests almost daily from the mainland). I got steamed frozen veggies - no work at making it tasty. The following day, we got veg and rice again (stir fried) but no protein. I asked for beans and they gave me another plate of vegetables. We only got desert on a couple of occassions. We got fruit but I felt there should have been more effort to provide options for dessert, appetizers we could eat and breakfast.

The stay wasn't noted as luxury per se but it was very expensive at almost 1000/day in our currency. While I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and my diving experience was AMAZING and staff really great, for the price I paid, I was disappointed in the food side of things and nothing was offered up to compensate.

South Seas shark diving

by heavy113

My wife and I joined 5 other couples for a 2 week land and sea diving adventure
Beqa required some traveling to get to; in fact 2 major flights, three hours on a bus and an hour at sea.

TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Peaceful private Burke’s ( bungalow’s), well groomed grounds of native foliage; magnificent pool with waterfall

Great diving- especially if you like man eating sharks in your face

Warm caring staff
Lots of evening cultural events
