7 Best Bathing Suit Websites for Women 2020

See recent posts by Cynthia J. Drake

In an era where anything can be ordered with a press of the “buy it now” button, trying on bathing suits in store fitting rooms almost seems like a ritual of the distant past.

It’s certainly much more comfortable nowadays to peruse the vast inventory of bathing suit websites, find styles that fit your budget (and your figure) and try them on in the comfort of your own bedroom. Depending on company policy, you might even be able to return any swimsuits that you don’t like, allowing you to create your own in-home dressing room to find your perfect suit.

Of course, the downside of online shopping is that it can be hard to judge quality and customer service—particularly if you’ve never ordered bathing suits online before.

To give you a leg up, we’ve rounded up a list of the best places to buy swimsuits online to help you make your selections for summer.

1. Summersalt Swimwear

Summersalt Swimwear is making waves for its $95 high-quality two-piece and one-piece bathing suits that were created using a TrueMeasure design technology. This technology employs 1.5 million body measurements from 10,000 women sizes 2 to 24 to ensure a good fit.

Why We Love It: In addition to spot-on sizing, the Summersalt website gives detailed ratings on swimsuit fit—for example, giving the lowdown on boob support and butt coverage. You can also select views of models who are various sizes to see how bathing suits look on different bodies.

2. Amazon

Of course moms frequently turn to Amazon when ordering everything from vitamins to school supplies, but some of us still haven’t ventured into ordering a bathing suit from the internet giant. Rest assured: the process is easy and pain-free—if you’re not ready to commit to ordering a suit, check for the “Prime Wardrobe” icon, which allows you to choose up to eight items of clothing (including swimsuits) and return whatever doesn’t work for you, for free.

Why We Love It: Amazon offers an impressive inventory of suits from a variety of manufacturers. Of course, some are better than others in terms of quality and fit, and there may be some trial and error required. But the fast shipping and free return policy makes it easy to test various suits until you find the right one.

3. Everything But Water

Everything But Water is the largest swimsuit and resort wear specialty brand in the U.S., offering dozens of different brands in addition to an in-house EBW brand, with stores across the country where associates pride themselves on providing an excellent shopping experience. Online, you can enjoy access to the company’s full catalogue of swimwear in sizes from 0 to 22W and bra sizes up to 38H.

Why We Love It: We like the Perfect Fit Finder search, which allows you to narrow down the most flattering swimsuit choices for your body type. Everything But Water also offers free returns (and in most cases, you can also return in store if you wish).

4. Target

Target is Mom Central for so many things, but purchasing a swimsuit on Target’s website has become even better in recent years. Here’s one more reason to whip out your Target card: In its most recent swimwear advertising campaign, the corporation earned rave reviews for showcasing non-retouched photos of women with diverse body sizes.

Why We Love It: In addition to the body positive campaign messaging, wide selection and reasonable prices, if you need a bathing suit fast, check out the in-store, free order pickup and same-day shipping delivery options. Target also currently offers free shipping and returns on unlimited try-ons.

5. Swimsuits for All

Fans of Lizzo rejoiced at the online ads for Swimsuits for All starting in 2018, featuring the singer rocking out various one- and two-piece swimsuits from the brand. One of the first companies to showcase plus-sized models, Swimsuits for All refreshingly embraces diversity throughout its campaigns aimed at women with all kinds of bodies, affirming “Every Body is Beautiful” with swimsuit sizes 4 to 40 from brands such as Gabi Fresh and a line of bathing suits inspired by model Ashley Graham.

Why We Love It: This is a great resource for mom-friendly styles, such as swimdresses and supportive one-piece suits, with search options for “tummy control” and “hip minimizers,” as well as adjustable fit suits that can even double as maternity wear. The site offers free returns within 60 days and free exchanges.

6. Lands’ End

Long praised for its high quality swimwear, Lands’ End is a brand that has stood the test of time in offering clothing and bathing suits for the whole family. The company is also known for its generous return policy, which also applies to online swimsuit purchases: simply return your item at any time if you’re not satisfied.

Why We Love It: Fans of modest coverage suits will find plenty of options at Lands’ End. We also liked the variety of rashguard swimsuit options on the Lands’ End website, as more moms are opting for these options to protect their skin from the sun.

7. Cupshe

If you spend enough time on social media, you’ve probably been pulled in by the ads from China-based company Cupshe, which features fashion-forward bikinis and one-piece bathing suits on its website. We’ve tried several of these bathing suits, and though the fit can sometimes run slightly small, we’ve received several compliments on these swimsuits.

Why We Love It: If you’re looking for an edgier, fashion-forward option for this year’s swimsuit, check out the styles at Cupshe. We’ve also been impressed by the company’s customer service: in one case where we weren’t happy with the fit of the bathing suit, Cupshe simply credited us and asked us to donate the bathing suit in lieu of returning it by mail.
