Overview

Another of the many Shakespeare-themed hotels in Ashland, Bard’s Inn offers an excellent location several blocks down the street from the Shakespeare Festival and Lithia Park. It’s in a quiet, residential neighborhood at the end of Main Street that puts you close to everything. If you’re here for the festival and you want to leave your car parked during your visit, then this is a great place to do just that.

Kids will love the heated outdoor pool and hot tub, while parents will appreciate the beautiful decor of the lobby and breakfast area. The free breakfast is one of the best in town, offering eggs, pancakes, cereal, bagels, bacon, and assorted fresh fruit. If that doesn’t fill you up, there are any number of restaurants in the downtown area. Make sure to ask for a family suite to give you and the kids more privacy and room to spread out. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, in-room refrigerators, free parking, and Jacuzzi suites.

Great Location

by Scarletflash600

There were three things that stood out at Bard's. #1 was the staff! Both clerks were great. The check in clerk went above and beyond to find us the best room. #2 is the location in downtown Ashland where we could walk to places. #3 - I liked that the breakfast area was a separate room, quite spacious and bright. There were several selections for breakfast, more than the usual hotel breakfast. The layout of the hotel is interesting; there are three buildings. The hotel used to be a Best Western; the room showed some signs of age, but the decor was classy. I would definitely stay here again. Be aware that the access to parking from the side street is up a steep driveway. Use the the Main Street entrance (especially on a motorcycle)!

Needed a room on Halloween, went early in the morning to get one paying cash. The manager Jonathan hooked it up not only was the transaction smooth but he was able to check me in super early. Which allowed me to put together my last minute costume and make it on time for the parade!
