Reviews

Probably better in summer

by Ken A

We were there in early October for a conference. The resort is located on the waterfront, and has fantastic views and access to the lake. The room was a good size, as was the pool. Unfortunately the heating system is antiquated and as such it was quite cold our first night, so we had to get maintenance to help. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice amenities, friendly staff, good beach-side location, breakfast not included

There were many things we liked about this hotel, such as the friendly staff, the room decor, and the good-sized pool and hot tub. There is a good restaurant on-site, but it doesn't provide a free or discounted breakfast for guest as most other Best Westerns do. We liked that the hotel is within walking distance to the trail network and the charming downtown, with its many restaurants, shops and cafes, including the unique Cedar Street Market shops. The room was clean and big enough for the two of us, and our room was on a walk-out level to the beach. The hotel is located right next to the railway, and even on our lower room, we still heard the trains rumble by - though not expressly loud. Unfortunately above our lower level room were noisy guests who got up at 4:18 a.m. and we heard them walking around.
