Excellent Jungle Retreat

by Marilyn F

Originally was going to stay a couple of nights and ended up staying 6! The accommodation was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. Cleanliness was important to the staff and everything is very well maintained. The property offers many options for activities - ziplines; two caves (with interesting formations, pottery relics and one with a Mayan calendar) with knowledgeable guides (thank you Henry), walking trails-with or without guides; pool; hammocks in the gazebo and under trees; poolside chairs; pool floats and more. Restaurant had wonderful delicious food and a good variety. When ordering for a specific dinner time, the staff was very punctual! I was able to take a tour by one of the staff of Caracol with a couple of other guests that included the Rio Frio Cave and swimming in some natural pools. Overall, my stay was wonderful and the staff made you feel like you were “part of the family.” I highly recommend Calico Jacks!

A true Belizean experience!

This place is very special for many reasons. It is a true Belizean experience and we had a great time. The food is wonderful and all fresh and homemade and served at the exact time you request it! Keep that in mind if you like to relax with a cocktail first! All the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The onsite cave is a must, and they have many other tours available. The zip lines were fun too. We wish them the best!
