Ocean City is Maryland’s crown jewel. Tons of families (roughly eight million, to be precise) flock to this picturesque sandy beach city every year to experience some of the best and most beautiful surf on the East Coast.
The Comfort Inn Gold Coast is an excellent option for families who want to experience the laid back, carefree lifestyle of a beach resort town, without paying the beach resort town price. The hotel is only a block away from the beach, and within walking distance to some of OCMD’s best restaurants, shops and family-friendly entertainment.
Rooms include cable TV, free high speed Internet access, a mini-fridge and microwave, a coffeemaker, and an iron and ironing board. Some rooms even include in-room hot tubs. Though there’s an abundance of things to do around the inn, guests are invited to enjoy the indoor heated pool and exercise room. There is also a Denny’s restaurant located onsite and open 24/7, as well as a laundry facility.

I was in town for a convention and this hotel was one of the two hotels my school district was using to house delegates for the convention. I chose to try the Comfort Inn because the other hotel (Carousel) was disgusting. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel.
It’s located on the bay side and my hotel room (room 501) had a beautiful view of the bay. When I arrived, the receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and when I inquired about a room on the fifth floor, she switched me without a problem.
When I went to the room, there were some signs of age and wear. There were a few spots on the carpet, the light was hanging slightly and there were scuff marks in the tub. I pushed the light back in place, performed my usual cleaning with Lysol spray and Clorox wipes and all was well. I also noticed that one of the beds was dipped in the middle and the carpet near the window was coming up at the corners.
But other than that, the comfort of the beds were decent. The microwave and fridge were a great addition and the water pressure in the shower was amazing. And the housekeeper even left us a nice towel design on the bed after cleaning the room. It was a nice touch.
It’s a 2 star hotel, but they offer great service.
Stayed for end of season Corvette event, good clean hotel, rooms where great, clean and organized, restocked with fresh towels and room cleaned daily. Indoor pool and hot tub a plus. Not luxury but enjoyable. Denny’s attaches to hotel and a movie theater a few steps away
